Removal

Read the exit before you enter.

Most tools bury the leaving instructions. We put ours one click from the homepage, because a service you can't easily leave is a service you shouldn't easily trust. Removing PodAttr takes about two minutes and cannot break your show.

How to remove PodAttr

  1. Open your podcast host's settings (Transistor, Buzzsprout, Captivate, RSS.com, or wherever your show lives) and find the field where you added the PodAttr prefix — usually labeled "analytics prefix," "tracking prefix," or "URL prefix."
  2. Delete the p.podattr.com/<your-slug>/ entry and save. Your host immediately publishes your feed with clean, direct enclosure URLs.
  3. That's it. New downloads go straight to your host. No episode moves, no feed migration, no listener ever notices.

There is nothing to uninstall on our side and no exit interview. If you also want your account closed, one email does it: ceo@podattr.com.

What about old cached URLs?

Podcast apps cache feeds. For a while after removal, some listeners' apps will still hold your old episode URLs — the ones that route through our prefix. Those keep working: we keep the redirect alive for removed and canceled shows for as long as PodAttr operates, at no charge, so no cached copy of your feed ever breaks. We just stop logging — the redirect becomes a plain pass-through with no download recorded. And if PodAttr itself ever winds down, those URLs are covered by our continuity commitment: 12 months' notice and an open-source worker you can point them at.

The prefix is fail-open by design: it either redirects to your host or gets out of the way. There is no state where removing it — or us disappearing mid-removal — leaves an episode unreachable. The mechanics are documented in our methodology.

Your data when you leave

Removal instructions live in our incident alerts, too

If an incident ever affects downloads, the alert we send includes these same removal steps — your fastest exit, offered at our worst moment. That's part of our incident covenant, documented in the methodology.

Stuck at any step, or your host's prefix field is hiding: ceo@podattr.com and we'll walk you out ourselves. Last updated July 23, 2026.
